ELECTROLUX TO MEMPHIS, TN.

As you all may have heard through media handles, ELECTROLUX is planning to move their “cooking warehouse” to Memphis, TN. After carefully reviewing a large number of locations for the new warehouse, they have chosen Memphis, TN. The decision was based on the site’s geographical location for their clients and suppliers.

*For some who are not really sure what Electrolux is… it is a home appliance and electronics manufacturer, from vacuums to coffee makers to kitchen appliances, Electrolux has you covered. There motto: “thinking of you” definitely comes into the equation with their designs to make everything for your home stylish, yet user friendly.

Production in Memphis is expected to be in full force mid-2013. They plan on having the current location, which is located in Québec, Canada, to be shut down fourth quarter of 2013. The new Memphis site represents an investment of 190M USD. Which of course they will receive investment support from the state, local county and city government bodies.

What does that mean for us, local Memphians? This can definitely be a GREAT opportunity for the local economy. Realtors/ loan officers can take full advantage of the relocations and future buyers with the new job opportunities that will come into play. The local business owners will see an increase in business which will also generate more opportunities for us. I have come to notice many realtors don’t really understand, all this affects OUR business. Think about it, more jobs… more buyers... more new home builds… more mortgage investing. The list goes on and on from gas prices to sales/ property taxes. The real estate market is definitely coming back; I personally believe 2013 will be a big success for many realtors/ loan officers.
